Re: The Cake Poker Rake Race
I got a comment from someone over at the Poker Tips website asking how many hands someone would need to play to win a seat in the 9-man $10,000 freeroll in the Cake Poker Rake Race.
It is a question that is probably on your mind if you checked out the Rake Race’s site.
It would seem at first glance that you would have to play more Poker than you have ever played, but the fact is you wouldn’t. Cake Poker calculates their rake on a community basis. What this means is that if you were dealt into the hand you share in the rake generated for that hand even if you fold pre-flop.
At a 5-handed table, if you were dealt cards and folded, and the total rake taken for the hand is $1.00, you yourself are credited with generating $.20 of it.
Another reason is that you only have to win the race ONE MONTH in order to get a seat in the freeroll. Everyone starts at zero on the 1st day of each month, so no one can fall so far behind that they can’t possibly catch up.
If you play cash games and haven’t tried Cake Poker yet, I would strongly suggest it. Not to mention you will give yourself a chance at a Free $10,000 Major Poker Tournament Seat.
