Chan Poker Closing Down

August 19th, 2008 by player 1

According to a recent report on their website, Chan Poker is closing it’s doors as of Aug 21, 2008.  It’s understandable that a smaller poker room like Chan just couldn’t hack it in the ultra-competitive industry.

The laws pertaining to online poker in the US make it next to impossible to compete against larger rooms who are just barreling through, and allowing US Players to deposit and play.

A room like Party was able to weather the storm while still pulling out of the US market, but you have to remember, they were the biggest, most popular online poker rooms before the US anti-gaming laws were passed.

Smaller rooms, though they are a part of larger networks, will inevitably fail in today’s market.  Even with celebrities like Johnny Chan endorsing them.

You just can’t compete with the big boys like Full Tilt and PokerStars

” We are actively seeking a partner to provide poker software and honor all Chan Poker player point balances for those that wish to continue playing online poker. We will keep you informed of developments on this front.”

Yea, I MIGHT want that job….

Thank You to deipoker.com

January 8th, 2008 by player 1

I just wanted to thank the folks at deipoker for continuously ripping off mine, and many other site owners’ content on a daily basis.

You can check it out on their SPAM site, as they consistently scrape the content of this and other Poker information sites. It’s good to know that the hard work that gets put into setting up and maintaining an online poker strategy site can be used to help others who like to steal content.

I have asked repeatedly for the site to stop ripping off the articles posted here on Poker-Speak.com, to no avail. So to all the deipoker readers out there, please realize that the content you are reading is stolen. It is stolen from hard-working Poker site owners.

Thanks deipoker–for ripping us all off.

reviewme-60.png ReviewMe.com is a site that matches up bloggers looking for traffic, with people looking to whore out their blogs review other peoples’ sites on their blog.

I was actually looking into doing this recently, until I read a very good blog post from entrepreneur Jeremy Enke, owner of PAW Affiliate Network (formerly known as “PartyRiches.com”). Read More »
