Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker 2
Calvin Ayre is considered by many, including myself, a marketing genius. He took Bodog from the Sportsbook in the corner of the internet, to the Beast of a company that it is today, through great promotions and product placement, and customer service. It seems like only yesterday that covers.com (The best site on the net for an amateur sports bettor. This site has incredible stats, trends, etc, and they leave their touts to their own pages. Seriously check them out if you bet sports).
When the game of Poker started to get really popular, Bodog which was originally just a Sportsbook opened a Poker Room. At first the games were a FISHFEST because most of the site’s members, all sports-bettors didn’t know much about Online Poker. They took a shot at the Poker room, the games were good, and then slowly the competition got to a normal level for the bigger online sites.
After sponsoring the : “Lingerie Bowl” during half-time of the Superbowl, combined with the success of the Sportsbook and Poker room, Bodog became a giant in the industry.
Yet again, CEO Calvin Ayre is attempting to break the bank by giving away the LARGEST PRIZE PACKAGE IN TELEVISION HISTORY: $2,000,000. Not too long ago I had the idea for a Poker reality show. Rain on my parade, Bodog has already done it. I didn’t see any of the Season 1 shows, but I watched some of the highlights, and the show looks great. Apparently last season some Poker professionals were competing and Josh Arieh ended up winning. This year however, it is anyone’s game as they are holding open tryouts for Season 2, from July 5 – 8 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. You can get more information by visiting:
