Pacific Poker ReviewPacific Poker, a publicly-traded (888.com PLC Family) company on the London Stock Exchange, is known as one of online poker’s “original” founders.

While their platform is as simple as it was when it was first launched back in 1997, it still remains as the absolute softest site on the internet in terms of competition. If you have a bankroll and patience, then you will find Pacific Poker to be one of the easiest sites to beat.

Traffic   Pacific Poker Bonus

Traffic holds steady at roughly 9,000 people playing at peak times, with game selection being pretty standard for larger poker clients.

Software

While the software is not the greatest to look at, it should be noted that Pacific has made significant strides since 2005 to improve their lobby and table functionality. The site still has plenty to offer, including some great tournaments, live action qualifiers (WSOP, Aussie Millions, etc), and the fishiest players on the web today.

Action/Games

Pacific Poker currently offers the following games for real money play: Texas Hold Em (Fixed, NL, and PL), Omaha (PL and Fixed), Omaha 8/b (PL and Fixed), 7-Card Stud, and 7-Card Stud Hi-Lo. Traffic flows fruitfully at the Texas Hold Em tables, where limits and buy-in amounts range from as small as $.02/$.04 and $2 to as high as $100/$200 and $5,000!

The Omaha ring games receive a decent amount of action, with the Stud tables receiving very little to minimal traffic, even at peak times. Standard rake of up to $3 maximum is taken during most games.

It is important to note once again just how fishy the competition at Pacific truly is, as it’s been widely known that the flop percentages for their ring tables have exceeded 60 to 70 percent!

In addition to the action, Pacific has a great selection of daily tourneys, Sit and Go’s (from $.50 to $750 buyin ranges), and a wide array of satellites to some of the biggest live action poker tournaments (WSOP and Aussie Millions to name a few) around the globe.

Software

The action at Pacific makes up for the fact it has one of the most boring and simple interfaces in the world. Before their software upgrade in 2005, the famed poker client was very slow, difficult to look at, and lacked a lot of basic features that have since become “industry standard.”

That has since changed, with Pacific Poker changing up their table appearances, avatars, and card deck colors to give players a more down-to-earth feel when they take a seat.

The lobby is also very functional, giving a great breakdown of the ring tables, tournaments, and Sit and Go’s the site has to offer. In addition, the tables have a neat little taskbar at the top that allows you to better customize your session, with assorted features like flop percentages, hand histories, and average pot sizes. The new upgrades have made Pacific a very enjoyable site again.

Customer Service/Support

In regards to their customer service, Pacific can normally be very selective with their support inquiries. If you have a basic question, they will normally get back to you in a very minimal amount of time; however, any player account inquiries go through a different support line and normally can take longer to process. Email and phone are the only available channels of support at the moment.

Deposit/Withdrawal Methods

The following deposit methods are available at Pacific Poker: FirePay, Citadel, Neteller, credit card, PrePaidATM, wire transfer, bank transfer and checks.

At this time, U.S. players are not allowed to play at Pacific Poker.
